The grape harvest tradition

In the Basto region the grape harvest is a practice and a tradition passed from one generation to the next, and it has lasted.

In August 2019, our taste for that tradition — a passion rooted in us since we were very young — led us to buy this property, which had around 5 of its 6 hectares under vine.

As soon as we could, the project we had imagined started taking shape, and the harvest was back in this new home of ours.

These days the harvest is a few days when family, friends and neighbours come together, and where everyone is welcome to talk, liven things up, join in and be part of this family — which makes those days far more than a simple harvest.

The harvest usually takes place in September, and the exact date always depends on how the grapes are ripening, which varies from year to year.

The response to bringing this tradition back was so good that in 2022 we planted another hectare of vines.
